Alternative Search Engines

Wolfram Alpha is a "computational answer engine" that is especially helpful for STEM.  ​​

Duck Duck Go calls itself the "privacy search engine".  They promise not to track its users, or sell their information to third parties.  The site contains minimal ads, they rely on user donations to keep the site running. 

Swisscows is a very safe search engine that is family friendly.  It filters out violent & other inappropriate content.  They also do not store or collect data from users.

Ecosia is the only search engine that uses their profits to plant trees around the world.  They also do not sell user data to third party advertisers, or track their users.  

Not exactly a search engine, but an archive of the internet.  If you come across a broken link, you can most likely find it on the Wayback Machine.
